Warning device outputs up to 131dB

An European Safety Systems product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jul 1, 2009

The latest addition to the E2S Alertalarm Series of high-performance electronic sounders is the A131 unit.

With a sound output of up to 131dB, the units are designed for use in industrial, construction and small COMAH sites, factories, refineries, civil engineering sites, quarries and airfields.

They can also be used to give flood warnings, civil defence warnings and in any situation where a warning has to be broadcast across a wide area.

The A131 has an effective range of more than 250m and can be fitted with a number of control options including radio control, which enables a complete system with multiple activation points and siren locations to be created quickly and cost effectively as cabling will not have to be laid around the site.

The three-stage A131 offers 45 tones, so it can give different tones for fire, evacuation or security alert.

The tone menu includes realistic siren, hooter and bell simulations.

Based on high-efficiency horn designs, the A131 utilises a 100W pressure driver to generate its high output and can be used as a single unit or in clusters of four to provide omni-directional sound output.

The unit can be powered from 24V DC, 115V AC or 230V AC, with low current draw at all operating voltages.

Battery backup is offered as an option, ensuring that an emergency alarm can be provided even in the event of a power failure, a critical requirement for incidents such as toxic gas release.
