This month thousands of designers, production engineers, works, purchasing and R and D managers as well as directors from across the East Midlands will be discovering the latest engineering products and services available, at the region's biggest manufacturing exhibition Called East Midlands Manufacturing 2004, the show is organised by ETES and is sponsored by East Midlands Development Agency, in association with the regional Business Link Network

It will be held at Donington Park, on 22nd and 23rd September.

Last year's show attracted over 2000 visitors during its two day run, with exhibitors reporting an average of 20 qualified leads and approximately GBP 51,000 of new business, as a direct result.

This was an incredible success and early indications already show that this year's event is set to exceed last year's figures.

The key measure of success for any exhibition is obviously the quality of exhibitor it attracts and the relevance of their products and services to the visitor.

This is where the East Midlands Manufacturing Exhibition excels.

It is the perfect opportunity for the region's manufacturers to get their new products out into the market and win new orders.

Exhibitors range from innovative venture capital funded startups, to the region's major players and public bodies.

Grant funding from East Midlands Development Agency and Business Link has been made available to encourage those innovative manufacturers within the East Midlands to exhibit.

One of the highlights of the exhibition will be Inventors Corner, where visitors can find some surprising products that have resulted from the ingenuity of manufacturers from across the East Midlands.

The exhibits represent the forward thinking vision and future potential that makes the East Midlands manufacturing community a force to be reckoned with.

A "must-see" exhibit from the University of Nottingham will demonstrate to manufacturers how the latest innovative research could help give them the competitive edge.

Combining expertise in mechanical, materials and manufacturing engineering with operations management, the University has an international reputation for the high quality of its research undertaken in partnership with the UK manufacturing industry.

It has extensive facilities for manufacture, testing and computation.

Featured on the stand will be examples of collaboration with companies including Aston Martin Lagonda, Rolls-Royce and TQC of Nottingham.

All exhibitors share a willingness and commitment to serve the needs of local industry.

As the following quote from one of last year's visitors illustrates: "I have difficulty in finding appropriate suppliers at larger specialist exhibitions".

"I'm lucky to find two or three".

"Because of the size and type of companies exhibiting I've identified about 20 local suppliers today".

"As a result, I have cancelled a visit to another show much further afield".

Additional benefits for visitors include a free buyer supplier forum.

This has already attracted some of the region's biggest purchasers including local authorities, the MoD, Rolls-Royce and Aston Martin.

All this, plus an extensive seminar programme sponsored by MAS East Midlands, designed to enable local manufacturers learn, free of charge, more about the key issues that are propelling industry today.

All these features will ensure that the East Midlands Manufacturing Exhibition on 22nd and 23rd September 2004 will be the event that provides local industry with a time and cost effective way of keeping up to date of all the latest developments within the manufacturing sector.

Based at Donington Park, in the heart of the East Midlands, the show is less than 45 minutes away from 90% of its target manufacturing audience.

Where else could visitors have a face-to-face, hands-on look at around 200 companies in half a day.
