As part of its long-term growth strategy, European Trade and Exhibition Services (ETES) is adding to the appeal of its six successful regional manufacturing exhibitions with the introduction of three new product centres.

The Machine Tool Centre, The Subcontracting Centre and The Used Machinery and Equipment and Live Auction Centre will be launched at Southern Manufacturing, Thorpe Park, Surrey, on 16th-17th February 2005 and introduced into all subsequent exhibitions.

The Machine Tool Centre will focus on new machine tools, from the simplest through to the latest state-of-the-art machining centres and turning machines.

ETES will provide exhibitors with various options whereby machines can be displayed on-site or remotely, and a number of leading manufacturers and suppliers have confirmed their intention to make full use of these initiatives at Southern Manufacturing.

Within The Used Machinery and Equipment and Live Auction Centre visitors will be able to view, in person or via video link, a wide variety of used machine tools and a live auction will take place each afternoon.

This will give visitors the ideal opportunity to purchase, there and then, the machine of their choice.

Further emphasis is also being placed on the benefits of regional exhibitions to the UK's subcontract industry with the launch of The Subcontracting Centre.

Subcontractors are an integral part of the ETES exhibition strategy, and the addition of these new centres will create new opportunities for them to be at the hub of a new approach to exhibiting.

On the one hand, they will be promoting their skills and expertise to key buyers from all of the major engineering sectors; on the other hand they will be at the heart of major manufacturing events, rather than being sidelined in an associated event.

Phil Valentine, ETES' Managing Director, comments: "Our first priority has been to put in place the foundations for these developments, achieving this objective through a number of strategic appointments".

"I am confident that these enhancements to our regional exhibitions create a marketplace that will continue to give our exhibitors and visitors the location and opportunity to do serious business".

"Visitors from the indigenous manufacturing community confirm the time advantages of attending regional exhibitions".

"Initiatives such as these new centres will further benefit exhibitors and visitors alike".

"Best of all, it will bring an added dimension and renewed excitement to the world of manufacturing exhibitions".
