The Southern Manufacturing Show's technical seminar programme has built a justifiable reputation for delivering not-to-be-missed presentations on subjects vital to engineers and industrial SMEs This year's programme is perhaps the most comprehensive yet, and advance bookings are running at unprecedented levels

Show organisers are urging visitors to the Southern Manufacturing Show, Thorpe Park on 8th and 9th February 2006, to reserve their places now to avoid disappointment.

The Southern Manufacturing Technical Seminar programme is supported by the Manufacturing Advisory Service - South East, (MAS-SE) the Government body responsible for assisting manufacturers in the South East region.

This year, presenters will deliver manufacturing-oriented seminars on a wide variety of issues, ranging from "Machine safety" to "Accelerating your business development".

As well as presenting many of the hourly seminars, MAS-SE advisors will be on hand throughout the show at the MAS-SE stand.

The first day's seminar programme kicks-off with a presentation by MAS-SE on six sigma approach to process improvement.

This is followed by a presentation of the latest research into lean business practice and how to rejuvenate an existing lean programme.

Supplying to the automotive supply chain is the topic of the next presentation, followed by two further presentations by the MAS-SE on how to improve time to market with new products and the importance of brand awareness.

The day concludes with an examination of the latest machinery safety regulations and how they affect both buyers and sellers.

Day two opens with a presentation on selling to the aerospace supply chain, and this is followed by an examination of CE marking - what it is and how it affects your business.

Selling to the defence industry is covered in the next presentation, and this is followed by a discussion on lean thinking and how it can help streamline a business.

"Accelerating business improvement and how it can keep you ahead of the competition" is next on the agenda.

The seminar programme concludes with a presentation by MAS-SE on "Innovation - sustainable design", advice on achieving product differentiation based on design rather than price.

Attendance at all the seminars is free and open to all visitors and exhibitors at Southern Manufacturing.

However, demand is always high and so prebooking is essential.

Visitor preregistration for the event and seminars, together with full event information, is available online.

Entry to the Southern Manufacturing Show is free, with easy road access via junctions 11 or 13 of the M25, free parking and frequent courtesy coach transfers from Staines railway station.
