Free seminars address British innovation

The North West Knowledge to Innovate (K2i) programme can provide fully-funded support to eligible SMEs in the region.

The free seminar sessions at this year's North West Manufacturing and Electronics exhibition on the 11th and 12th June, at the Reebok Stadium, Bolton will enterprises in the North West how they boost innovation in British industry.

According to consultant Andrew Woodward, innovative companies tend to have larger market shares, higher growth rates and profitability compared to less innovative competitors.

He will address four key ingredients of innovation at the seminars: product and market strategy; technology management; innovation process and creating the right culture.

Woodward will also give a detailed insight into the North West Knowledge to Innovate (K2i) programme which can provide fully-funded support to eligible SMEs in the region.

Funded by the North West Regional Development Agency, the K2i programme helps SMEs identify new opportunities and realise their full potential through developing a culture of innovation at all levels of the business.

K2i is a key plank of the government's strategy to ensure that North West industry remains highly competitive.

Andrew's Growth Through Innovation seminar is just one of the technical seminars running over both days of the event.

Visitors to North West Manufacturing have the chance to broaden their business knowledge through participation in discussions on Lean, Six Sigma and Kaisen, together with practical sessions on how to succeed in the aerospace/automotive supply chain and how to unlock the full potential of their organisation.

All seminar sessions last for one hour and are free.

The North West Manufacturing and Electronics show is the third in a series of five major regional industrial events organised annually by European Trade and Exhibition Services.
