Safety switch is more forceful

An Euchner (UK) product story

As part of a continual development programme, Euchner has introduced an upgrade for the STM safety switch for guard locking to accommodate higher operating forces of up to 2000N.

As part of a continual development programme, Euchner has introduced an upgrade for the STM safety switch for guard locking to accommodate higher operating forces of up to 2000N.

The plastic bodied STM switch has a compact housing and can be supplied with optional encapsulated actuating heads made from either plastic, or a more robust metal version.

The small physical size, combined with the choice of standard or heavy duty operation, makes this product ideal for machine builders.

This flexibility also gives specifiers the chance to nominate safety products that have 100% compatibility for a much wider range of applications.

The STM switch is suitable for door swing radii down to 300mm and is fitted with separate contact elements to cover both guard locking monitoring and door monitoring functions.

Guard locking monitoring is performed using a positive opening NC contact.

A contact element with two switching functions is used for door position monitoring.

Two contacts are available for each separate monitoring function, with a positive opening NC contact being combined with either a further NC or NO contact.

A minimum current switching capacity of 1mA ensures that these switches are suitable for use in safety control systems.

Actuator and solenoid monitoring are also incorporated, and the use of common actuator heads for both their STM and STP ranges of safety switches ensures maximum versatility and interchangeability with minimum stockholding requirements.
