The Euchner company has unveiled its compact ESH safety hinge with integrated safety function, designed specifically for applications requiring robustness and small dimensions.

As part of an extensive programme of new product introductions, the Euchner company has unveiled its compact ESH safety hinge with integrated safety function, designed specifically for applications requiring robustness and small dimensions.

The ESH safety switch from Euchner literally combines the function of a safety switch with that of a door hinge, ensuring that once mounted it is virtually tamper proof.

Compact dimensions coupled with sturdy die cast zinc housing and robust design ensures it can cope with high mechanical loads.

IP67-rated protection also permits the ESH safety hinge to be deployed in harsh environments.

The new safety hinge can be mounted on 30 and 45mm wide aluminium profiles, while the switching point is freely adjustable from -10 to +180 degrees.

The ESH possesses two switching elements.

Depending on the model, these may be one positive opening NC contact and one NO contact, or two positive opening NC contacts.

A minimum current of 1mA switches the contacts, and so ESH is ideal for use in safe control systems.

The product can also be connected to an evaluation unit via an M12 plug connector.
