Enabling switch improves workplace safety

An Euchner (UK) product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team May 2, 2008

Enabling switches are used wherever personnel are required to work directly on running machines and systems, with the obvious associated hazards and dangers.

The ZSM enabling switch has a modular, lightweight and ergonomic design which makes it suitable for many different control and safety related functions.

Customisable enabling switches are subject to continuous manual actuation and are used together with other control switches for commands enabling potentially hazardous conditions to be run.

These switches are used wherever personnel are required to work directly on running machines and systems, with the obvious associated hazards and dangers.

This is necessary, for example, during setting up, programming, testing or servicing work.

A stop device, an LED indicator or a key-operated switch means that the ZSM offers maximum versatility.

With a rubberised grip, the switch sits securely and comfortably in the hand.

The low-weight design permits fatigue-free working, even over long periods.

A vibration signal built into the device indicates to the operator that the switch is still in the enabling position, providing added security where safe operating conditions are of paramount importance.
