Eurotherm has replaced an ageing, bespoke system at Dungeness A Nuclear Power Station.

Eurotherm recently replaced an ageing, bespoke system at Dungeness A Nuclear Power Station The installation, known as the Emergency Indication Centre, uses innovative techniques and employs a EurothermSuite supervisory system incorporating Wonderware InTouch and IndustrialSQL

This novel application measures important plant parameters associated with both reactors and gives the user the ability to view data in a trended or mimic format.

As system availability was an important consideration, the system has been designed to support several levels of redundancy, conferring both robustness and reliability.

The system also supports comprehensive reporting facilities, a feature of EurothermSuite.

Reports, events and mimic graphics are presented to a number of colour printers both locally and at a remote control centre.

Users of the equipment are reported to be particularly pleased with the intuitive and easy to use graphic interface.

The site system engineer commented: "The robust and well conceived system design is impressive".

"Our favourable experiences make this an eminently suitable monitoring platform for use during decommissioning".
