Eurotherm Spain has won a Eur 550,000 contract to supply a control system for use on a pharmaceutical manufacturing plant in Toledo, Spain.

The plant is being built for Servier Laboratories.

When commissioned in April, the plant will manufacture a range of intermediate products.

Under the terms of the contract, Eurotherm Spain is providing a control system for four intermediate production reactors currently being installed on the site.

The control system includes eight EurothermSuite operation servers, five T940 process supervisors, and three T800 visual supervisors.

It also includes 2200 I/Os with the associated historical data, alarm management and production recipes.

One of the key success factors in winning this contract was Eurotherm's ability to offer a complete solution, including validation, installation and supervision services.

The newly awarded project follows several others won over the past three years in the face of strong competition from Schneider.

As a result, Eurotherm Spain is hopeful of providing control technology for more reactors planned for the same site over the coming months.
