Evologics supplies equipment for ABS unit trials

Evologics has supplied underwater equipment to Offshore Manpower SA (OMSA) for the positioning, remote acoustic control and landing in the Atlantis Artificial Buoyant Seabed (ABS) unit trials.

The ABS unit was submerged, tied back to wellhead and BOP landed successfully in April 2009 as part of the offshore phase trials on board the Nan Hai 5 in China.

Evologics has provided the acoustic positioning and communication equipment and offshore technical assistance during the trials performed in conjunction with Atlantis Deepwater Oriented (ADOL), China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) and China Oilfield Services (COSL).

Evologics specialises in the production of underwater acoustic communication and positioning equipment.
