Everest's powertrain team to exhibit at SAE Comvec

Everest Team will present its powertrain research and testing companies at the SAE Commercial Vehicle Engineering Congress and Exhibition in Rosemont, Illinois, 6-7 October.

Everest Team is a business interest group of eight companies with expertise in the automotive and transportation sectors.

Engine and vehicle engineering research testing is the group's core competence.

Everest Team provides expertise from research to industrialisation for powertrain mechanics and electronics; rapid prototype engine building; and permanently available testing facilities.

Some current projects for the group include: prototyping and testing a variable compression ratio engine; combustion and control of two-stroke engines (gasoline and diesel); new modes of combustion (for example HCCI and CAI); durability testing of components, engines and vehicles; and reduction of fuel consumption, emissions, combustion noise and vibrations.

Everest Team is composed of small companies that are used to working together.

Working from its Europe-based operations, the team is focusing on the international market, specifically targeting Asia and North America for business development.

The following equipment is available through Everest Team companies: advanced metrology (laser velocimetry PIV, unregulated pollutants, particle size measurement); road and vehicle testing; runways; two semi-anechoic chassis dynamometers; 35 engine test beds; external aerodynamics wind tunnel; rapid compression machine; 3-D scanning laser vibrometry; quick prototyping and machining tools; and hardware-in-loop simulators.

Everest Team has 200 employees, including 150 engineers and technicians with more than 15 years of experience in the powertrain domain.
