The Traceability 2006 Trade Fair and Congress will be held for the third time at CNIT Paris La Defense from 24 to 26 January 2006.

The Traceability 2006 Trade Fair and Congress will be held for the third time at CNIT Paris La Defense from 24 to 26 January 2006.

The event will showcase information flow management and will bring together 250 exhibitors and 7500 professional visitors over an area of 6000m2.

There will be three new events - the Codexpo, PGI Solutions and RFID Forum exhibitions - and a day at the Congress devoted to Traceability-related practices and requirements in various European countries.

In order to optimise Traceability, information is exchanged both with outside partners and with the various departments within a company using integrated management software packages.

Traceability fits in with market developments and, in 2006, will incorporate the Codexpo and PGI Solutions exhibitions, thereby bringing together all the equipment, software and services necessary to make Traceability successful, whatever the sector of business activity - food, health, distribution or industry.

A high level of traceability is nothing more than the reflection of an efficient information system within the company, the latter being formed by adding together a number of specialised tools.

Modern-day demands and requirements mean that traceability needs to be fully computerised.

Traceability 2006 meets these demands and requirements, and is being organised into four areas of expertise.

The advice area will bring together specialised consultancy firms covering quality control procedures, general information systems organisation, the integration of new technologies - such as RFID and communication - and legal matters and implications.

The software area will target the producers of systems for intracompany and intercompany traceability (collaboration platforms).

PGI Solutions will be held in the very heart of the software area while, at the same time, keeping its own identity.

The identification area will highlight the entire range of tools and equipment currently available for tracing a product or process: bar codes, DNA labels, digital tracers, infrared labels, voice tracers and printers.

The RFID area will have 40 specialised companies displaying and presenting label applications.

There will be a 100 per cent application-based approach, dedicated to the current requirements for closed-loop and open-loop traceability: industrial processes, cold chain, logistics, distribution and trading, counterfeiting and authentication, assets management and document management.

In 2006, for the first time, Traceability will create what is claimed to be the largest technological platform ever dedicated to RFID.

Moreover, the RFID Forum will join up with the Traceability Congress and offer a conference programme that will be both pragmatic and innovative, covering supply chain, assets management, security (inventory shortage) and customer management.

Traceability is an annual trade show covering all types and aspects of Traceability, including identification media, RFID, capture/collection/reading systems, data transmission, analytical techniques, marking, printing and labelling.

The trade show will take place from 24 to 26 January 2006 at CNIT Paris La Defense (in Paris, France).
