Exotherm Instruments manufactures thermocouples for extremely high temperature measurement.

Exotherm Instruments manufactures thermocouples for extremely high temperature measurement.

Such Pt-Pt-Rh thermocouples are widely used in measuring temperatures in the range 1500 to 1700C.

Special applications include glass manufacturing, molten metal processes, high temperature furnaces, power generation plants etc.

Typical construction includes Pt-Pt-Rh wire 13% of required size, junctioned and enclosed in a ceramic tube of very high alumina content, Grade KER 710.

The cold ends are either terminated in an aluminium head with ceramic blocks or Teflon insulated lead wires.
