Handy format for plasma cutter

The CaddyCut offers small workshops and repair facilities a portable, easy-to-use plasma cutting facility.

The new Esab CaddyCut unit offers small workshops and repair facilities a portable, easy-to-use plasma cutting facility Provided that a 230V single-phase mains supply and a 5.2bar, 118 litre/min compressed air supply are available, the system offers a "plug and cut" facility capable of clean cuts on any conductive material

Cutting capacity in mild steel or aluminium is up to 12mm thickness.

Simplicity of use is the key quality of the CaddyCut; the powerful touch start system, for instance allows a paper drawing to be used as a template and cut through without additional marking out.

Likewise an auto drag facility allows the torch to drag along the surface of the workpiece when using templates - though a small standoff distance offers more power and improved cut quality.

The cutting medium in this instance is a plasma arc, driven by a jet of compressed air.

Air pressure is critical to the success of the process, so CaddyCut has a built-in pressure regulator.

It automatically senses correct air pressure and signals via a green light before cutting commences - if the pressure is incorrect then the unit will not start.

In use a continuous setting feature (within the range 15 to 35A) optimises cutting conditions and wear part life.

Esab supplies its compact PT31XL torch with 4.5m cable/hose for use with the system.

This torch allows tool-less exchange of consumables such as nozzles and electrodes.

A boxed consumables kit is supplied with the standard package.

The CaddyCut has robust IP23 casework incorporating an integral carrying handle and removable shoulder strap, and weighs only 9kg.

It forms the core of a portable plasma cutting system including accessories such as a magnetic torch holder, wheeled guide and a circle-cutting guide for components up to 750mm diameter. Request a free brochure from ESAB ...
