Power sources boost tube weld quality
Orbital welding can be carried out more productively and at lower cost by using new additions to the ESAB Aristo range.
In order to keep weight to a minimum, Esab has used high-strength steel for the casing, with a combination of galvanising and painting to offer additional protection.
Furthermore, an external protective frame resists knocks when the unit is being transported or manoeuvred in confined spaces, as well as doubling as a carrying handle.
While the Aristo YardFeed 2000 is designed to operate at a distance from the power source, it can alternatively be close-coupled if required.
To ensure that the unit delivers the best possible performance, it is equipped with a four-wheel wire feed mechanism that can handle wires up to 1.2mm in diameter, and the feeding is controlled electronically for accuracy and stability.
Esab's TrueArcVoltage system maintains the correct voltage at the arc, regardless of the voltage drop in the cables caused by the feeder operating at a distance from the power source.
Other standard features include a user-friendly MA6 control panel with 2/4 stroke selection and an adjustable burn-back timer, crater filling, creep start, hot start, gas pre/post-flow, digital V/A meters, pre-programmed synergic lines, a memory for ten sets of customised welding parameters, and a pulse/synergy pulse switch.
There are also a manual gas flow valve, gas purge, wire inching and quick-connectors to minimise setup times.
If customers choose to use a water-cooled gun, the Esab LogicPump (ELP) automatically starts the water pump to avoid overheating.
Further options range from a heater to protect the wire spool against humidity, a gas flow manometer, strain relief for the welding torch, remote controls and an OKC angle connector to enable the feeder to be used in MMA mode.
Typical applications for the Aristo YardFeed 2000 will be found in shipyards, the construction industry and other outdoor or indoor MIG welding tasks where portability and weld quality are of paramount importance. Request a free brochure from ESAB ...
