ESAB releases switching converter power sources

An ESAB product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Sep 18, 2008

ESAB has launched the Origo MIG range of switching converter (chopper) power sources.

The Origo MIG 402c/502c/652c are capable of MIG/MAG, MMA and air-arc gouging and meet demands for high productivity and fast production line changes.

ESAB software enables the Origo MIG range to provide high-quality production with low overall welding costs.

The Origo MIG units have wide current and voltage ranges with stepless, dial-adjusted inductance allowing optimal settings for a variety of filler materials and gases.

ESAB's LogicPump automatically starts water-cooling when a water-cooled torch is connected to the Origo Feed 304 M13 or 484 M13 wire feeder.

This eliminates any risk of overheating the welding torch, and associated repair costs.

With air-cooled torches the pump automatically shuts down, reducing noise and increasing working life.

There is a digital V/A meter on each machine's feeder display - they conform to EN60974-1 and EN60974-10.

Robust metal casings make these units suitable for harsh environments, including outdoors.

The undercarriage is designed for forklift handling, while large wheels and lifting eyes make the units highly manoeuvrable.
