ESAB launches welding power sources

An ESAB product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Nov 17, 2008

The Origo Mag C171, C201 and C251 units from ESAB are all-in-one power sources for Mig/Mag welding needs on farms, repair shops and other light production and repair applications.

Operator controls such as multi-step voltage switches and potentiometers for wire-speed adjustment are used to set welding parameters.

The units come with a built-in wire feeder and can be used with conventional solid wire or self-shielding cored wire to weld steel, stainless steel and aluminium and handle Mig brazing.

It is possible to adjust burn-back time and to set spot-weld time in all three Origo Mag models.

A power-smoothing device provides smooth welding current, comparable to that of a three-phase powered machine, which the company said gives excellent performance in CO2 and gas mixtures.

Options include V/A digital meter and a transformer for a CO2 heater.

Each machine comes with an ESAB gas-cooled MXL torch with three gas nozzles.

Fan cooling and overload protection ensure a long life for the Origo Mag units.
