ESAB offers wire for thin plate welding

An ESAB product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Apr 20, 2009

ESAB has developed a wire for welding thin plate that lowers costs in mechanised and robotic fabrication.

The 1.2mm diameter metal-cored wire, OK Tubrod 14.11, outperforms solid wire in quality and productivity and is suitable for welding thin plate typical of the automotive sector.

ESAB has developed a new wire for welding thin plate plating that lowers costs in mechanised and robotic fabrication.

The welding characteristics of the wire permit lower arc voltages, so reducing the risk of blow-through and spatter.

The wire offers high feedability and arc stability compared with copper-coated solid wire, and deposits weld metal of high quality with Argon 8-20 per cent CO2 shielding gas.

ESAB's OK Tubrod 14.11 is ideal for situations that require faster welding to improve output, and where high-quality welds are necessary, without the use of pulsed arc welding power sources.

OK Tubrod 14.11 will cope with poor fit-up tolerances, even at high travel speeds, leading to less post-weld repair work and fewer rejects in serial fabrication operations.
