The Farnell CD Catalogue is an electronic browse and search facility that contains the entire Farnell range of over 100,000 products, all on one CD

The Farnell CD Catalogue has arrived at the global distributor of electronic and industrial products, meeting customer needs through tailored services The latest addition to the 'Farnell Digital Family' is an electronic browse and search facility that contains the entire Farnell range of over 100,000 products, all on one CD

Available free to customers, it is quick, simple to use on any PC with a CD-ROM facility, saves time and, in its new format, is also lightweight and portable.

Utilising Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) files, the Farnell CD displays the entire Farnell Catalogue electronically.

All six books have been digitally replicated to display the complete range in a 'page to view' format, just like the paper catalogues.

Significantly for both customers and vendors, this form of the catalogue enables Farnell to update product information on a more frequent basis than the paper based versions.

The Farnell CD Catalogue is designed to help customers locate all Farnell products quickly and easily.

They can do so by searching in any of the following ways: * The Farnell order code.

* Manufacturer's list code.

* Product name.

* Product index.

Once customers have found what they are looking for, they simply print off the order form provided, complete it and fax or post it back to Farnell.

Farnell will process the order as soon as they receive it.

Orders received before 8pm will be delivered free of charge the next working day.

As a part of its three-year "Investment for Growth" strategy, Farnell has been focused on developing new technology systems to deliver market-leading service to customers so that, increasingly, they will receive a "one-to-one" service tailored to their own needs.

As part of this customer relationship management programme, Farnell has started to introduce innovations such as dedicated key account managers for major customers, personalised home pages on its web sites and tailored electronic catalogues.
