Farnell has expanded its portfolio with a new range of hazardous area audible and visual alarms.

Farnell has expanded its portfolio with a new range of hazardous area audible and visual alarms.

Farnell has signed a global agreement with Clifford and Snell, a division of ADS Signature Industries.

Farnell will be introducing the new range of explosion-proof and intrinsically safe audible and visual alarms to its June catalogue.

The UK-based manufacturer offers a comprehensive selection of products to address applications such as hazardous areas and intrinsically safe environments including the petrochemical and oil/gas markets as well as industrial and process control through to requirements of the fire and security industry.

The Yodalex range of explosion-proof sounders and strobes offers a unique design with many innovative features including omnidirectional high sound output and an explosion-proof enclosure made from LM6 aluminium alloy which is available as either a single sounder or strobe, or in a combination sounder/strobe format.

International approvals such as UL, CSA and DEMKO are standard across the range.

BASEEFA Approved and meeting PFEER and UKOOA requirements, the YO7D explosion-proof electronic audible alarm complements the Yodalex Series and incorporates a monitoring facility and a choice of 32 sound tones.

For applications where an intrinsically safe product is required, Farnell is now able to supply a range of IS units which will meet the needs of most customers.

Trevor Gage, General Manager, Clifford and Snell, said: "This global distribution agreement with Farnell enhances a long and successful partnership between the two companies, which has been in place for many years.

Furthermore, the introduction of new products from Clifford and Snell specifically for hazardous areas and intrinsically safe applications, complements the existing range of alarm sounders and strobes, and opens new market opportunities for Farnell on a worldwide basis.

With Farnell's excellent reputation as a proactive broadline distributor, the new agreement will allow our successful and well-established relationship to progress considerably both in the UK and on an international basis", he concluded.

Andrew Fawcett, Farnell's Warning Devices Product Manager, commented: "As a global distributor, it is crucial that we meet the needs of the changing corporate markets.

The expansion of our hazardous products portfolio through Clifford and Snell's audio and visual alarms, is another example of Farnell's commitment to keeping abreast of global demands with diversification into industrial markets".
