A novel hardness tester aims to free users from the subjective influences prone to Vickers hardness measurement, such as the optical measurement of the indentation diagonal.

The Fischerscope H100C micro hardness tester includes WIN-HCU software that provides extensive evaluation capabilities, which can be imported into an Excel spreadsheet.

The H100C measures universal hardness (HU) under test load by measuring the indenter displacement depth (according to DIN50 359).

The test load range from 0.4 to 1000mN, with measurements of less than1um thickness being possible.

It is also able to compute hardness measurements using Vickers, Berkovich, Knoop or various spherical indenters.

The WIN-HCU software is compatible with Windows 95/98 and Windows NT.

It can compute statistical and material characteristics such as mean value, standard deviation, HU, HV, creep.

It stores measurement plots and graphically displays the data as a histogram.
