FCX Thompson Valves has secured a contract to supply its advanced Maxseal and IVP products for Conoco's Belanak floating production, storage and off loading facility.
FCX Thompson Valves has secured a contract to supply its advanced Maxseal and IVP products for Conoco's Belanak floating production, storage and off loading (FPSO) facility.
Conoco has invested US $1.6 billion in the development of the new Belanak natural gas Indonesian offshore field, located approximately 200km from Singapore.
The floating facility - a 1000ft vessel - will have the capacity to store up to one million barrels of oil, which can be offloaded to tankers for transportation.
It is scheduled to be completed and ready for by late 2004.
Poole-based FCX Thompson Valves will supply its Maxseal instrument changeover solenoid valves for the project.
These products are manufactured in stainless steel and provide a number of benefits over alternative products, such as lower power consumption, pressure options up to 207bar and actuation options including auto reset, lever manual override, lever manual reset and a tamper proof function.
In addition the company also secured a major package to supply a range of its Maxseal - IVP Dome loaded high pressure regulators.
The 1 and 3in products are manufactured in stainless steel and are designed to ASME class B16.34.
Commenting on the new contract, Denis Westcott of FCX Thompson Valves explained: "The recent contract for Belanak has provided us with a highly credible reference which will further help us develop our presence in the Indonesian oil and gas market, which is now the largest market in Asia".
