Truflo Marine Valves FCX has won an order from German shipbuilder HDW for over £350,000 worth of specialist valves for the new high-tech U212 submarine.

The package comprises hydrogen and oxygen pressure regulators together with cryogenic control and non-return valves for the air independent propulsion system (AIP).

Throughout the appraisal stage, Truflo worked in close co-operation with HDW engineers to develop these highly specialised products which will feature on submarines built for the German and Italian navies.

The manufacturing process involves machining to very tight tolerances, enhanced by rigorous assembly and test procedures.

As part of the global FCx Flow Control Group, Truflo Marine Valves FCX has a long history of providing solutions for the most demanding services and environments.

The company is a confirmed leader in the design, development and manufacture of valves for both submarine and surface fighting ships, offering extensive project support ranging from single valves to full ship sets.
