Valve show sparks Far Eastern demand

Global flow control distributor and manufacturer FCX - a key sponsor at the recent Valve World 2004 Conference and Expo - has reported huge interest from the Far East in its flow control technologies.
Global flow control distributor and manufacturer FCX - a key sponsor at the recent Valve World 2004 Conference and Expo - has reported huge interest from the Far East in its flow control technologies.
Although FCX has been a regular exhibitor, this was the first time that it had undertaken main sponsorship of Valve World - the largest dedicated valve event drawing upwards of 6000 international visitors from a diverse range of major industries - and some of the best feedback came from Far East sources.
"There is no doubt that the indications from the Conference and Expo suggest there is a huge interest in our range of products and indeed in other Western flow control technology companies", explained John Perkins, CEO of the FCX group.
FCX has recently secured several major new contracts for PTA plants and LNG carrying ships being manufactured in the rapidly developing Chinese market and has already established a stronger presence in the region geographically as a result.
"Even so, we will have to constantly review our presence in the region with a view to further expansion", added Perkins.
"We have some significant new contacts to follow-up as a result of Valve World these leads represent great opportunities to capitalise on the development of major new markets".
FCX now plans to attend the first ever Valve World Asia event - which is set to take place in Shanghai in China in May 2005 - specifically for the Far East markets and is confident of further success.
Perkins also confirmed FCX's sponsorship of Valve World in 2006, adding: "There is no question that Valve World is the ideal forum for FCX to demonstrate its valve capability".
"Our specialist manufacturers such as FCX Orton and FCX Thompson Valves have a chance to put themselves under the international spotlight and our specialist distributors are able to demonstrate the benefits of the FCX global brand and reach".
