"Invensys is very proud and pleased to lead the endowment campaign for this initiative.
We have supported the development of fieldbus since its inception and for many years Jim led this effort for us", said John Eva, Vice President and General Manager Invensys Process Systems Global Customer Service and Support.
"Jim's expertise was second to none.
While his expertise will be sorely missed, through this scholarship, many others in the industry will be able to advance their knowledge of this important technology.
Invensys' support for the scholarship demonstrates our continued commitment to furthering the adoption of the technology through the education and training of the industry workforce.
Jim would have liked that", Eva added.
The goal of the programme is to create a perpetual $250,000 endowment fund for educational scholarships, which will provide annual awards of up to $1000.
These scholarships will be awarded to students around the world interested in the industrial automation industry.
The initial scholarship awards are to be announced during ISA Expo 2003, 21st-23rd October 2003, in Houston, Texas.

He held the positions of: Secretary of the Foundation, Member of the Executive Committee, and Member of the US Marketing Committee.
