The purpose of the FFMC-Indonesia is to promote the adoption of Foundation fieldbus technology within Indonesia's expanding industrial community.
The organisation will be the focal point for co-ordinating fieldbus-related marketing activities throughout the country.
Like other regional Fieldbus Foundation marketing committees around the world, the FFMC-Indonesia will develop communication and educational initiatives intended to inform controls and instrumentation end users, system integrators and other interested parties about the use of Foundation fieldbus in industrial automation applications.
According to Fieldbus Foundation President and CEO Richard Timoney, the establishment of the Fieldbus Foundation Marketing Committee-Indonesia reflects a growing trend among automation industry members to become involved in fieldbus committee work and take an active role in the direction of the technology.
"Around the world, suppliers and end users are demonstrating tremendous enthusiasm for the growth of Foundation fieldbus", said Timoney.
"We are fortunate to have many talented and dedicated participants in our global marketing committees".
"The work of these individuals is a significant factor in the industry's acceptance of fieldbus-based control systems and the increased adoption rate for our technology".
The FFMC-Indonesia Initial Committee will research requirements to establish the marketing committee with the Indonesian government and prepare its draft constitution.
It will also develop proposed marketing activities for 2004 and plan for Foundation fieldbus demonstration opportunities.
FFMC-Indonesia expects to participate in at least one automation exhibition during the coming year.
