"Fieldbus development for project managers" is a comprehensive workshop covering all phases of the engineering development process for Foundation fieldbus devices.

This two-day course, developed to meet the demands of manufacturers, is the first of its kind offered by the Fieldbus Foundation.

Developers will be guided though the development process, setting them on the fast track to Foundation fieldbus.

Geared toward product marketing managers, engineering project managers and senior engineers responsible for specification and development of Foundation fieldbus devices, delegates will have an understanding of: Foundation Integrated Architecture for Information Integration; how fieldbus devices fit into the integrated architecture; capabilities of Foundation fieldbus devices; engineering development process for a Foundation fieldbus device; special project management requirements; development and testing tools available to development engineers; suppliers of Foundation technology; product design lifecycle of a Foundation fieldbus transmitter; and how to estimate development cost and schedule.

The inaugural class will be offered at R and M Industrieservice Hochst , in Frankfurt, Germany, on 29th and 30th September 2005, and is available to both members and nonmembers.

The Fieldbus Foundation will be announcing 2006 course dates later this year.

North American and International course locations are being planned.

According to Fieldbus Foundation President and CEO Rich Timoney: "Since the initial release of our specifications, the demand for conformant and interoperable devices has exploded".

"This class will help device developers meet both the demands and expectations of their end users".

Course instructor David Glanzer, Director of Technology Development for the Foundation added: "This is an excellent class for companies wanting a headstart in the development process or to migrate to Foundation fieldbus".
