Fieldbus Foundation announces the agenda for its 2006 General Assembly, to be held at the Ritz Carlton Portman Hotel in Shanghai, China, from 28th February to 1st March.
The Fieldbus Foundation today announced the agenda for its 2006 General Assembly, to be held at the Ritz Carlton Portman Hotel in Shanghai, China, from 28th February to 1st March This year's event, themed "Compliance, Confidence, Credibility" will address the needs of the expanding Foundation Fieldbus market in China and Asia-Pacific, and will feature end user presentations, technical training workshops and tabletop product exhibits

Kit gets started on Foundation fieldbus
The AT-446 Foundation fieldbus H1 starter kit is a complete, cost-effective solution for automation equipment suppliers seeking a "fast track to fieldbus".
Ian Verhappen, Chairman of the Fieldbus Foundation's End User Advisory Council (EUAC), will open the end user programme with a presentation concerning Foundation Fieldbus End User Councils (EUCs) around the world, and their benefits for the automation user community.
Verhappen will also conduct a workshop on Fieldbus economics.
Dave Glanzer, Director of Technology Development, Fieldbus Foundation, will provide an update on the organisation's activities around the world.
End user presentations will describe Foundation Fieldbus installations at key facilities throughout China.
Joan Wu, Bayer Material Science, will discuss the Foundation Fieldbus project at the Bayer Caojing plant and Wei Hua, Cnooc Kingboard Chemical, will detail his company's experiences with a Fieldbus intrinsically safe application.
Wu Guo Liang, IPMT, Secco, will report on the use of the technology on the Secco project and Seah Ooi Kiat, Cnooc and Shell Petrochemicals, will outline the Fieldbus implementation at the CSPC Nanhai Petrochemical Complex.
The agenda also includes tutorial workshops by leading Fieldbus technology experts.
Topics and presenters include: "Fieldbus Overview" by Yong Hong Yang, Sinopec Yanshan Training Center; "Introduction to Electronic Device Description Language" by Stephen Mitschke, Director of Fieldbus Products, Fieldbus Foundation; "Safety Instrumented Systems" by Dave Glanzer, Director of Technology Development, Fieldbus Foundation; and "High Speed Ethernet" by Jonas Berge, General Manager, Smar Singapore.
The speakers will participate in panel discussions addressing key Fieldbus-related topics.
Rich Timoney, President and CEO, Fieldbus Foundation, will provide closing comments for the event.
Throughout the assembly, Foundation member companies will present tabletop exhibits displaying their latest Foundation Fieldbus devices, tools and host systems.
