The Fieldbus Foundation has announced the speakers for its 2007 General Assembly, to be held in Houston, Texas, on 22nd and 23rd February.

The Fieldbus Foundation has announced the speakers for its 2007 General Assembly, to be held in Houston, Texas, on 22nd and 23rd February Planned for the Houstonian Hotel, this important annual event is expected to host 150-plus controls and instrumentation end users from the process industries, as well as a large number of automation suppliers and members of the foundation's board of directors

The theme of this year's General Assembly: "Changing the playing field", reflects the Fieldbus Foundation's emphasis on providing a total control system technology infrastructure for industrial manufacturing.

The event will address key topics such as open, scalable integration; process integrity; and business intelligence.

The public session on Thursday 22nd February includes an opening address from Rich Timoney of the Fieldbus Foundation on "Foundation Fieldbus infrastructure management", followed by workshops from: Tim Haley of Corning on "Open, scalable integration"; John Rezabek, ISP on "Process integrity"; and Herman Storey, Shell Global Solutions on "Business intelligence", End user case studies will include: Mike Miller, Duke Energy on "Nuclear perspective on a Foundation Fieldbus application"; and Robert Rounding, British Petroleum (BP) on "Fieldbus - made for Scada at BP Wamsutter Wyoming".

Following the technical presentations, an evening reception will feature Larry O'Brien, Research Director-Process Automation, ARC Advisory Group, who will present a keynote address entitled: "Beyond the bus: Foundation Fieldbus is an open and integrated automation infrastructure".

A silent auction will also be held to benefit the James O Gray - Fieldbus Foundation Scholarship Fund.

On Friday 23rd February the Fieldbus Foundation will conduct its annual business meeting for members only.
