Towngas, a Hong Kong based utility company was having problems with contamination in the naphtha fuel (a hydrocarbon) used to fuel a large furnace.

The system included some resin-type filters but these were allowing fine rust to pass through.

A Magnom process unit was installed downstream of the filters and was inspected after 6 weeks.

At that point only the first two Magnom cores were full of rust (about 250g of very fine particulate), ensuring a service interval of 6 months of the unit at the least before cleaning was required.

The Magnom was found to dramatically improve the reliability of the system.

And the Towngas engineers were so pleased with this result that they have ordered three more for similar applications.
