Powertrain producer picks quality checker

A TranscenData Europe product story

CAD model quality checker and comparison tool chosen to assist in the production of accurate and robust CAD models and help eliminate delays in the design chain.

Cadiq, ITI TranscenData's CAD model quality checker and comparison tool, has been chosen by Johnson Gate to assist in the production of accurate and robust CAD models and to help eliminate delays in the design chain.

Cadiq analyses, identifies and highlights potential geometry reuse problems within CAD models, ensuring the seamless and reliable downstream sharing of the CAD data.

Johnson Gate, part of the Johnson Electric Group, produces powertrain cooling modules for the automotive sector and has built its reputation on its innovative technology and integrated product development process.

The deployment of Cadiq will let Johnson Gate create accurate CAD models for use with downstream applications, including analysis tools such as Ansys Workbench and CFX.

"It is not merely a matter of improving the quality of CAD modelling for internal use, but of eliminating at their source any possible problems with the sharing of the models with our customers", said Marco Davino, Head of Support Services at Johnson Gate.

"Cadiq is the only software currently on the market which offers a true multi-CAD, CAD-independent, multi-platform approach capable of integration with PDM and based on internationally recognised standards in the automotive and other sectors, such as Sasig PDQ".

"For this reason it can be regarded as the de facto standard for certification of the quality of exchanged CAD mathematics".

Andy Chinn, Business Development Manager at TranscenData, said: "Our Italian partner, Enginsoft, has enabled Johnson Gate to solve one of the most pressing problems of global manufacturing - the accurate and reliable creation and transfer of design data".

"By implementing Cadiq, Johnson Gate can be confident of securing quality results from tools such as thermo-mechanical CAE and CFD technology further down the design chain".

"This will help to maintain a competitive edge by speeding up the design process and improving both the internal and external transfer of engineering data".
