CADfix is integrated with the Efield suite of solvers as an effective pre and post-processor, providing geometry import, a user interface and sophisticated meshing.

Efield AB, designer of electromagnetic analysis simulation software, has partnered with ITI TranscenData and adopted its leading data interoperability tool, CADfix, to use as the pre and post-processor for its suite of electromagnetic solvers.

Efield offers an environment for advanced computational electromagnetic (CEM) analysis, enabling the simulation of complex electromagnetic fields such as those associated with microwave and antenna design, EMI/EMC interaction, radar cross-section analysis, and antenna installation and scattering.

In order to validate concepts and make informed design decisions, such fields need to be simulated in real world environments, complete with surrounding components and buildings.

CADfix is integrated with the Efield suite of solvers as an effective pre and post-processor, providing geometry import, a user interface and sophisticated meshing to complement Efield's high-end analysis capabilities.

Harald Hermansson, Managing Director, Efield AB, explains: "Microwave design engineers have to use and re-use geometry information from one or more CAD systems, generate a suitable mesh for the chosen solution method and define parameters relevant to each specific electromagnetic problem".

"The simulation results must then be viewed in order to identify potential problems and suggest design solutions".

"The versatility of ITI TranscenData's CADfix allows us to tailor Efield's user interface using electromagnetic language and functionality that are specific to the problem at hand".

"CADfix also provides us with an accurate and reliable CAD import tool and advanced meshing functionality".

Efield researched alternative software solutions, but the CADfix and Efield combination offered the best solution to meet the company's specific needs.

Hermansson says: "By generating subject-specific triangular, tetrahedral, Cartesian and hybrid meshes, CADfix enables us to complete work on a product significantly faster than would be possible in any other way".

Efield software is designed to analyse electromagnetic problems and compatibility issues experienced in today's advanced electronically driven products.

Its comprehensive and efficient simulation environments and parallel solvers make Efield particularly well suited for large computational problems, which occur, for example, when you study a small antenna on a large structure.

Hermansson says: "The partnership between Efield and ITI TranscenData, and the integration of the Efield suite and CADfix, provides our customers with a seamless interface to access the powerful numerical solutions that underpin our technologies".

Andy Chinn, Business Development Manager at TranscenData Europe says: "Efield's advanced computational analysis combined with CADfix's powerful CAD interaction and analysis pre and post-processing delivers a high-end electromagnetic analysis environment for today's engineering community".
