Collaboration software provides 24-hour
support
DEXcentre was developed by TranscenData to meet the growing need for reliable and secure data exchange within global collaborative engineering projects.
ITI TranscenData has launched DEXcentre 5.3, the latest version of its web-based CAD collaboration solution that delivers round-the-clock support for secure data exchange across an extended enterprise in a multi-CAD PLM environment DEXcentre was developed by TranscenData to meet the growing need for reliable and secure data exchange within global collaborative engineering projects
As an internet-based solution with built-in security measures, DEXcentre provides a secure hub for robust and automatic CAD translation at any time, enabling improved workflow between partners and suppliers across the globe.
"DEXcentre 5.3 combines the high level of functionality that customers have come to expect from TranscenData with a user-friendly environment designed to ease workflow between global engineering teams", says John Gray, DEXcentre Product Manager at ITI TranscenData.
"As such, DEXcentre users benefit from an extensive range of features which automate the data exchange process, speeding up overall product development times and helping to maintain reliable and accurate engineering data throughout the supply chain".
DEXcentre 5.3 offers a complete range of features designed to improve workflow, maintain secure access and increase the automation of data translation and exchange.
Key features include: enabling secure and traceable proprietary data exchange; translation support for multiple CAD systems and formats; automated control of CAD systems, direct translators, model repair and healing, translation verification and custom batch applications; intelligent workflow incorporating data exchange best practices; user-friendly, web based interface and 24/7 availability; open architecture for integration with PLM and business processes; and scalable translation servers with load balancing.
Users need only a web browser and an authorised account to access the DEXcentre.
A straightforward 'drag and drop' or file browser selection allows users to pick the required files, single or multiple recipients for the data are then selected, and DEXcentre takes it from there, performing automatic data translation and transmission based upon individual recipient profiles.
To ensure that accurate data is maintained at all times, DEXcentre, in conjunction with the Cadiq 3D model comparison software, will automatically verify that translated models match the originals, and furthermore, the intelligent translation workflow means that multiple translation methods can be performed and verified until acceptable results are obtained.
"Effective communication between partners and suppliers has become a major goal for manufacturers, since the sub-standard exchange of engineering information can lead to costly delays and time-consuming re-work", continues Gray.
"DEXcentre has made it possible to streamline and automate the sharing of data between multiple CAD formats and software platforms, eliminating extensive delays and maintaining the integrity of product data throughout a global enterprise".
