ITI Transcendata has released Proficiency Collaboration Gateway 8.1: the latest edition of its feature-based computer-aided-design (CAD) interoperability solution for manufacturers and suppliers.
Collaboration Gateway enables the transfer of complete design intelligence between CAD systems, including geometry, features, sketches, manufacturing information, metadata, assembly information and drawings in the conversion process.
Collaboration Gateway 8.1 features an enhanced Completion Wizard, which operates as a plug-in and tracks and validates any manual changes that a user makes involving portions of the model that could not be automatically exchanged because of CAD incompatibility differences.
From within the CAD system he or she is using, the user is presented with detailed information about pending issues and presented options as to how to successfully complete the model.
Once an option is selected, the model is automatically updated and all changes are documented.
Highlights of the new release include: the 3D Completion Wizard for NX, which facilitates the completion of exchanged models; the 2D Wizard for Catia V5, which facilitates the correction of converted drawings; and the Faster Geometry Engine, which improves the quality of results for Pro/E to NX, Catia V4 to V5 and Catia V5 to V5.
The new version includes many other automatic data exchange feature support enhancements for I-deas, NX, Pro/E and Catia V5 as well as a more robust Collaboration Gateway Server architecture, according to the company.
Additional enhancements include: support for Pro/E Wildfire 4, Catia V5 R19 and NX 6 Collaboration Gateway Agent grouping for optimised file transfer and load balancing; 3D Text exchange from Pro/E to Catia V5; Tri-Tangent Fillet feature export from Catia V5; Thick Surface feature export from Catia V5; Closed Quilt exchange from Pro/E to NX and Catia V5; Dynamic Extrude feature import to NX; Improved Variable Round export from Pro/E and Catia V5; Support for I-deas models with regeneration problems and non-manifold geometry; support for large-model exchange from Pro/E to NX; and improved exchange from higher to lower Catia V5 Release.
The new product release is available immediately worldwide and current customers can upgrade to Version 8.1.
As part of this release, an upgrade mechanism has been added for updating to future releases.
