Automation specialist Festo has launched a range of miniature pneumatic grippers with a focus on high levels of precision.
In addition to fabricating its own plastic components, Kiowa carries an exceptionally diverse range of stock - covering more than 20,000 different product lines - and guarantees next-day despatch for orders placed before 4pm.
The company has consequently invested heavily in the IT and logistical management systems needed to handle fast, high volume component procurement, sales and technical support.
As Anthony Towers, Kiowa's Commercial Director, points out: "Providing this level of service demands tight integration between our ordering, despatch and back office systems, and with our suppliers' IT systems".
"Although we carry stocks of commonly requested pneumatic components, online access to Festo's European warehouse allows us to significantly extend our product portfolio in this area, to provide customers with unrivalled choice and accelerated order fulfilment".
"Our direct links with Festo also form a vital part of our strategic business plan - Kiowa's website will become fully e-commerce enabled later this year, demanding very responsive and tightly-controlled supply chains", he adds.
Founded in 1991, Kiowa is an independent, family-owned company with a reputation for fast and efficient service.
The company has grown to become a leading supplier to OEMs and maintenance/repair organisations serving the needs of the manufacturing, food, agricultural and engineering industries.
Kiowa operates a professionally staffed trade counter and currently has over 1670m2 of warehousing facilities.
In January this year, Kiowa opened a new training facility at its headquarters in Sleaford, enabling customers to receive familiarisation on the latest automation technology without incurring the time and cost overheads of attending manufacturers' residential courses.
