Focusing next on belt splicing, it reviews when and why mechanical fasteners offer advantages over vulcanising in heavy-duty and light-duty applications, explains the basic differences between hinged and solid-plate belt fastener systems, then presents a sequence of five initial considerations essential to selecting the right fastener type.
