Fasteners handle heavy conveying tasks
Flexco BR butt-rivet solid-plate conveyor belt fasteners offer extra durability and service life for heavily loaded, high-tension applications.
Flexco BR butt-rivet solid-plate conveyor belt fasteners offer extra durability and service life for heavily loaded, high-tension applications such as main haulage belts found in coal and hard-rock mining, foundries, grain elevators, dry chemical processing, cement and aggregate plants and steel mills.
These fasteners accommodate belt thicknesses ranging from 6 to 24mm, operate smoothly over pulley diameters down to 450mm and are rated for conveyor belts with mechanical belt fastener ratings up to 140kN/m.
Plates are offered in several metals including spark-free Everdur for use in potentially explosive environments.
BR fasteners provide a tightly butted, non-hinged splice for sift-free operation.
Fastener plates are attached to the belt ends with self-setting rivets.
Each pre-assembled BR rivet features a patented breakaway pilot nail that penetrates the load-bearing belt carcass fibres without severing them, maintaining the integrity and strength of the belt carcass.
Because the rivets are self-setting, they install easily from the top side of the belt.
This method speeds and simplifies the installation process, and reduces downtime.
In contrast to belt splicing systems that require complicated machinery for installation, a rivet-attached splice is installed on-site with an easy-to-use, portable application tool and a hammer.
The application tool holds the belt ends and fastener plate strips in precise alignment while the rivets are being installed.
