Rosemount Measurement has announced the Model 644 Temperature Transmitter, which combines Rosemount reliability with the flexibility of digital electronics.
Rosemount Measurement has announced the Model 644 Temperature Transmitter that combines Rosemount reliability with the flexibility of digital electronics.
The 644 accepts inputs from a wide range of RTD and Thermocouple sensors, and is available in a variety of housing packages, either head or DIN rail mounted, or separately wall or pipe mounted.
The electronics is microprocessor based, using digital ASIC and surface mount technology, which is then totally potted to ensure environmental protection.
HART Digital Communications are used to re-range or adjust the calibration to suit the sensor: by inputting Callendar-van Dusen constants, RTD curves can be corrected, improving accuracy and stability to +/-0.23C, for the total system.
With thermocouples, ambient temperature monitoring within the electronics allows corrections to improve the transmitter accuracy over the full ambient range of -40 to +85C.
Options include a 5 digit local LCD indicator, to give temperature information in any engineering units, plus any alarm or out of range messages.
WAGO spring clamp terminal connections are also available as an option, for vibration immunity: they will never need re-tightening.
CENELEC approval is available, to EExia, EExd and Type N standards.
The Model 644 is available as a complete point solution, with the compact unit head mounted on a temperature sensor, complete with thermowell and extension tube; this electronics can be set to have NAMUR compliant alarm levels and with pre-loaded sensor matching constants.
