8 temperature signals on a single
twisted pair
The Model 848T Temperature transmitter monitors the temperature signals from 8 different sensors, and transmits this information digitally down a single twisted pair Foundation fieldbus connection
Rosemount Measurement announce the Model 848T Temperature transmitter, a new concept in temperature monitoring This single unit monitors the temperature signal from up to 8 different sensors, and transmits this information digitally down a single twisted pair Foundation fieldbus connection! Sensors can be resistance elements, thermocouples or millivolts signals, or any combination of these

Duplicated temperature monitoring in single unit
Fisher-Rosemount has introduced the latest version of the Model 3244MV Multivariable Temperature Transmitter to achieve duplicated temperature monitoring in one overall housing
All sensor power is provided by the Rosemount 848T, from the 8-32V DC fieldbus power.
The immediate advantage is that the single 848T unit brings head amplifier and transmitter performance to eight separate monitoring heads.
Measurement accuracy achieved using a Pt100 sensor is +/-0.3degC, and stability is 0.1degC, or 0.1% of reading over a full year period.
Overall installation cost for a complete Rosemount 848T system can be less than conventional direct wired sensors, and considerably less than individual transmitter units.
Only one twisted pair cable and one control room termination are needed, and one DCS input card used, instead of the eight cable runs and eight DCS interfaces used with direct wired sensors.
The potential savings are even more significant in a hazardous area installation: while conventional transmitters or direct wired sensors require one barrier per measurement point, Foundation fieldbus technology means that up to four 848T Transmitters can be fed from a single barrier! This one barrier can therefore protect up to 32 sensors.
Significant savings occur in barrier purchase cost, plus also in the control room space and cabinets needed.
Add to this the reduced numbers of DCS input cards, and the plant wiring savings, and simpler wiring drawings! The Rosemount 848T Temperature Transmitter provides the lowest installation and commissioning cost for your temperature monitoring.
The innovative technology of the 848T unleashes further benefits of Foundation fieldbus by then reducing operation and maintenance costs for the future.
