The ATEX-approved Rosemount Analytical Model 5081 transmitter is designed for use with Rosemount amperometric sensors.
The Model 5081 is a rugged, field-mounted two-wire transmitter and display unit, typically used for ozone, dissolved oxygen and chlorine measurement.
The intelligent Model 5081 transmitter is simply configured in the field without opening the housing, using either a local infra-red linked remote programmer, or digital communications over PlantWeb digital plant architecture.
Model 5081 represents a milestone as the second generation of Rosemount Analytical transmitters that can be calibrated and are fully configurable using AMS software from the control room, over Hart or Foundation fieldbus digital communications links.
The 20mm high digits provide immediate operator information in difficult environments, and the unit is approved intrinsically safe to ATEX requirements.
The Model 5081 builds upon the experience and operator acceptance achieved with previous transmitters such as the Rosemount Analytical 3081/4081, used for the measurement of liquid conductivity and pH.
The Model 5081 is fully capable of processing the multivariable measurements required for accurate dissolved oxygen and ozone measurement, using temperature compensation over the range 0-50C.
Dissolved oxygen sensors are available for ppm and ppb ranges from Rosemount Analytical.
When needing to monitor free chlorine, the Model 5081 can provide automatic pH correction (between pH 6.0 to 9.5), using the input from a separate pH sensor.
The 5081 provides the interface that makes these sensors fully integrated within PlantWeb architecture and the DeltaV digital automation system.
