A new process gas chromatograph from Emerson Process Management combines advanced technology and rugged instrument engineering.

A new process gas chromatograph from Emerson Process Management combines advanced technology and rugged instrument engineering The Rosemount Analytical Model 700 brings the benefits of many years of Emerson experience and development work in applying this analytical technique to process monitoring, using field mounted equipment

The design of the heatsink oven brings stable and precise measurement right to the field measurement point without the need for expensive analyser shelters: it is IP65 rated and needs no heating or air conditioning or air supplies, saving on installation and running costs.

The unit performs to specification for temperatures from -29 to +60C and all units are factory tested by cycling in an ambient test chamber.

Inside the ovens, the latest Rosemount Analytical high performance micro-packed chromatography columns use field proven technology, demonstrated to produce sharper peaks for improved component separation, short analysis time and very low carrier-gas consumption.

New for the Model 700, the chromatograph valves are of a unique new design, based on an original NASA development.

The valve offers a greatly extended operating life of more than 5 million operations (typically 3-5 years), in either a 6-port or a 10-port format.

Based on a simple but unique mechanical double-diaphragm actuation, the design eliminates the need for springs, O-rings and lubrication.

Emerson offers a lifetime warranty on these chromatograph valves.

The Rosemount Analytical TCD thermal conductivity detector is able to go well beyond the normal measuring ranges seen in other models, being capable of operating at low parts-per-million measurements for many applications.

For measurement of most organic compounds in the low parts-per-million or even parts-per-billion ranges, the flame ionisation detector is an option available with the Model 700.

Rosemount Analytical gas chromatographs can be configured in a number of networking communication schemes to meet most process communication requirements.

Options include Ethernet networks as well as multidrop RS485 networks.

To preserve the integrity of the data, all Model 700 gas chromatographs are capable of storing up to 99 days of analysis data in the event of a communication loss to the plant control system.

The Model 700 is ideal for providing real-time compositional data in typical process applications in refining, ethylene, and olefin processing as well as flare gas analysis and gas turbine control.

Whether the components of interest are in the percentage range or down to the parts-per-million range, a precise and reliable measurement is possible.

Designed for low cost of ownership, but retaining the application versatility needed, with full ATEX and CE marking, the Rosemount Analytical Model 700 process gas chromatograph brings simplicity and field mounted convenience to a complex measurement.
