The Rosemount 8721 sanitary magnetic flowmeter is designed specifically for food, beverage, pharmaceutical and biotechnology applications, and has achieved EHEDG certification.

The Model 8721 uses FDA approved materials for all surfaces in contact with the process fluid, with 316SS or Hastelloy electrodes and a PFA liner.

The flowtube is CIP/SIP cleanable, and with an ID that matches the process piping to eliminate step changes: the internal design is free of cracks and crevices, and is self draining.

The Rosemount 8721 is available with a variety of process connections, including tri-clamp, IDF, DIN11851 and weld-on fittings in 316L, with smooth polished surfaces: optionally these are electropolished to 0.5 microns.

The process gaskets, available in a variety of materials, are easily accessed to facilitate inspection and maintenance.

The compact, all stainless-steel meter body is fully welded, and critical areas are potted to provide a hermetic seal, protecting the internal components and wiring.

With a maximum operating temperature of 160C the meter is easily cleaned and is unaffected by pressurised steam and sanitation chemicals.

The meter body, available in pipe sizes from 0.5 to 4in, is smaller and lighter than most competitive meters.

The Rosemount 8721 sanitary magnetic flowmeter was designed for optimum performance with all standard Rosemount magnetic flowmeter transmitters, including the remote mounted electronics options.

All have the required meter configuration preloaded at the factory, but feature dedicated access buttons to recall flow tube size, units of measurement and output ranging, giving easier startup and simple on-site meter checking.

Rosemount transmitters use digital intelligence to deliver device and process information that powers the Emerson PlantWeb digital plant architecture to deliver asset optimisation, process automation, and management execution.

Further cost savings, increased plant availability, and enhanced safety and environmental compliance are achieved when these smart flowmeters using Foundation fieldbus communications are integrated into PlantWeb architecture.
