Needing a robust and weather-tight enclosure to house its effluent sampling monitors the UK based Buhler Montec Group contacted the specialist ABS and polycarbonate housing manufacturer, Fibox.
With samplers that are frequently situated in industrial effluent discharge flows, it is necessary to protect them from spray and dust, hence, the importance of Fibox enclosures's ingress protection IP67 rating.
The Buhler Montec s1022 transportable waste water sampler is used in many general industrial situations where effluent flows need to be monitored to ensure the company's compliance with local consent limits.
Whether the discharge is to a stream or into the sewer, the discharge must be monitored.
The Buhler Montec s1022 sampler uses a standard Fibox housing with handle attachment, making it easily portable, but in practice it is usually left in-situ.
This is indeed the case at the Fred Robinson Brewery in Stockport, Cheshire.
The company is obligated to measure its final effluent, containing water, beer, yeast and detergent, as it leaves the brewery.
Samples are taken, using the Buhler Montec s1022 sampler, at regular intervals and analysed by North West Water.
The Buhler Montec s1030 pressurised pipeline sampler has been designed for use in any pressurised pipeline.
Typically it is used in sewage treatment plants, sampling sewage sludge flows, however, the s1030 is now being increasingly used in paper and pulp mills to sample paper sludges to enable the checking of chemical content.
The s1030 sampler with protective Fibox housing also benefits from having a clear polycarbonate front to its enclosure, protecting the LED display indicator, while allowing the operator to ascertain whether the device is active, on stand-by or just paused.
