Event will bring together people from the food and beverage industry who are interested in food safety while maintaining economical manufacturing methods.

"Cost effective filtration in the food and beverage industry" is a one-day technical seminar organised by The Filtration Society to be held on 15th March 2007 The event will bring together people from the food and beverage industry who are interested in food safety while maintaining economical manufacturing methods

Process efficiency gains, for example by extended product shelf life or reduced waste, and cost savings can be achieved through taking the correct approach to filtration equipment selection, installation, operation and maintenance.

Control over the manufacturing environment is of paramount importance in preventing product spoilage where contamination in the form of particulates, some of which will be formed from viable organisms, play an important role in product quality control.

Papers identifying the correct approach to plant layout and methods to employ for system and area verification will be presented.

Case studies identifying problems encountered in food manufacturing environments will be presented with opportunities for open forum discussion.
