Sub Contract UK today announced that they have changed their company name to First Index Ltd, due to International expansion and increased use of their First Index web site.

This is due to International expansion and increased use of their First Index web site.
The move will bring the UK operation in line with their sister companies; First Index USA, Sweden and Finland, thereby forming a global network of services for contract manufacturers.
The first index web site - www.firstindex.com - can now be accessed locally using www.firstindex.co.uk for the UK and Ireland, www.firstindex.fi for Finland etc.
The change will makes it easier for UK and Irish based manufacturers to gain access to the increasing level of services offered by First Index Ltd via the Internet.
These will continue to grow as the company unveils a string of new Internet services for buyers and suppliers during 2000.
About First Index Over the past seven years, First Index has rapidly expanded to cover the United Kingdom and Ireland, United States, Sweden and Finland.
This growth has created the largest membership of contract manufacturers in the world.
The services offered by First Index Ltd provide several benefits for both buyers and suppliers of industrial products and components.
The main benefit of the free service to buyers is to help them source the best point of supply for a specific custom part or product.
The company assists both buyers and suppliers by reporting on jobs that have recently opened for bidding.
The main thrust of First Index activities for contract manufacturers is the provision of an on-going active source of leads for new business, providing quotation details on £2.1 billion of engineering projects per annum through their Sales Leads Service, in the UK and Ireland alone.
In the UK First Index Ltd operate from offices in Basingstoke, employing more than 60 staff.
