Dual Redundancy for Foundation Fieldbus Interface
Additional operational security for Foundation fieldbus systems in the PlantWeb automation architecture is now offered, with the introduction of dual redundancy in the H1 interface cards.
Courses and demonstrations are normally targeted to the specific requirements of the client, and frequently involve connecting instruments from the plant under discussion, to show how it can be interrogated.
One of the major demonstration tools used for this is the DeltaV process automation system from Emerson Process Management, which can accept inputs from a wide range of plant instrumentation formats and fieldbus systems.
These include Foundation fieldbus, Profibus DP, AS-i bus, DeviceNet, HART and also conventional 0-20mA or 4-20mA connections.
Most important is to show that interoperability is achievable, equipment from different manufacturers can operate on the same bus, or within the same control system.
