Local engineers found online

A Find Your Engineer product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jul 21, 2008

Online directory helps companies locate local engineers across many disciplines.

Find Your Engineer is a new online directory designed to help customers find and choose locally recommended engineers.

As it is often hard to find highly recommended or good engineers, the team behind Find Your Engineer have designed an online directory that allows the searching customer (or "finder") to find a local engineer through the website.

The process involves a search on industry, the type of job required and the area.

A list of engineers will be shown with a full profile page on their job histories, contact information and logos and photos of the company.

Through the detailed profiles the finder can select multiple companies they would like to contact them.

The next step is to proceed to checkout with the engineer(s)' details, which includes filling in the job details and contact details.

These are then e-mailed and text to the selected engineers.

In return the finder will receive an e-mail confirming the list and a link to a profile page to leave feedback.

The engineers will contact the finder and then it is business as usual.

The general idea is that the engineers who are advertised on the site will do a good job at a fair price to impress finders and in return receive a good rating.

The main focus of the site is the ratings of the advertising engineers.

The rating system means that the online directory offers impartial ratings for engineers.

Find Your Engineer also randomly checks ratings to ensure they are genuine.

The engineers are rated on a timely response, quality of work, service and general feedback and comments.

All feedback on the advertised engineers is posted onto the website allowing the finder to make a decision with all the facts.

The business directory currently covers several sectors, including: PAT testers, electrical testers, fire alarm fitters, fire security companies, fire training, risk assessments, sprinkler engineers and more.

Further sections are being built to include hydraulic engineers, mechanical engineers, security engineers and electrical engineers.
