New software gives information professionals a variety of ways to analyse and view information found in scientific literature and patents.
Software accelerates patent analysis
Research professionals and other experts predict that STN AnaVist will quickly establish itself as a standard for patent and competitive intelligence analysis tools.
While older records - from 1863 to 1964 - do not include abstracts, they may include a long list of keywords.
Copperlit is produced by Cambridge Scientific Abstracts, under an agreement with the Copper Development Association (CDA).
CDA's numeric database, Copperdata, is already available on STN.
Weldasearch is a bibliographic database containing abstracts of journal articles, research reports, books, standards, patents, theses and special publications in the areas of joining metals, plastics and ceramics, metal and ceramic spraying, thermal cutting, brazing, soldering and related topics.
Produced by Cambridge Scientific Abstracts, Weldasearch corresponds to the printed Welding Abstracts and Weldasearch Industry News.
As such, every aspect of welding and allied processes is covered in the database, including design, metallurgy, fatigue and fracture mechanics, equipment for joining and cutting processes, corrosion, surfacing, micro joining, quality control, non-destructive testing, safety, commercial applications, market statistics and news of the industry.
Citations in Weldasearch contain bibliographic information, abstracts and indexing information.
Coverage extends from 1967 to the present, and the database currently contains over 170,000 records.
Standards is a bibliographic database of citations to technical standards, guidelines, specifications, and other regulations from various standards bodies, including those in Austria, Europe, France, Germany, Japan, Switzerland and the USA, as well as the International Standards Organisation (ISO).
Produced by Deutsches Informationszentrum fur Technische Regeln (DITR) - a division of the German Institute for Standardisation (DIN) - Standards currently contains more than 440,000 records.
Citations contain bibliographic information, International Classification for Standards (ICS) indexing, and abstracts, with records available in either German or English or, in many cases, both.
All three databases are updated monthly, with current awareness alerts (SDIs) also available on a monthly basis. Request free introductory details about products from FIZ Karlsruhe, STN Europe ...
