Full text available on European patents
FIZ Karlsruhe has added the European Patents Full Text database to its comprehensive portfolio of patent databases.
Database records comprise bibliographic data, International Patent Classification codes, abstract, claims, and the full text of the description of the patent.
Patdpafull will contain over 350,000 records on release.
This will be supplemented by a rolling programme of backfile enhancement, and by the end of April 2003 the file will include the full text of German published patent applications since 1987; granted patents from 1990; translations of European patent documents from 1998; and German utility models from 1999.
Front page images will also be added at a later date.
Patdpafull will be updated weekly, with updates available within two to three days after publication by the DPMA.
Automatic current-awareness searches (SDIs) will also run weekly.
In order to pinpoint relevant information quickly and effectively in Patdpafull, STN users can utilise a range of powerful proprietary full-text retrieval tools.
The SLART (simultaneous left and right truncation) feature, for example, allows wildcards and truncation to be used on both sides of a search term, enabling users to locate multiple variations of a word or phrase, and so achieve a greater degree of precision in their searches.
The launch of Patdpafull means that STN now offers a rounded portfolio of patent full-text search services.
Other full-text databases already available include Europatfull, Pctfull and Uspatfull. Request free introductory details about products from FIZ Karlsruhe, STN Europe ...
